Murrieta Creek Regional Trail - Opening Ceremony

  • Temecula Community Center 28816 Pujol St Temecula, CA, 92590 United States (map)

After over 2.5 years of planning, the Santa Margarita group/Sierra Club and four cities along the Murrieta Creek have completed an interim trail and solidified the proposed trail that will connect Temecula, Murrieta, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore.

The National Park Service provided technical assistance in this effort that will serve as a stem to many other trails for city, county, regional and historic trails.

There will be four staging areas (with festivities) where the 9 am ribbon-cutting will take place.

Choose the site that is closest or your favorite. You can pick up a passport that will be stamped at each staging area. You can travel by car, bicycle or foot, but most staging areas will be closed by noon. You can take hikes along the trail from each site or try to finish the 16-mile length. This is only the interim trail route, as it will take some time to establish the trail along the creek-side.

Turn in the ticket in your passport at the fourth and last staging area you visit and you will be entered into a drawing.

Staging areas:

Rotary Park, Temecula
Copper Canyon Park, Murrieta
Marna O’Brien Park, Wildomar
Serenity Park, Lake Elsinore.

Estimated mileage is 15 miles each way.

This is non led, self supported ride.
